Dandelion Syrup

Dandelion Syrup

Ingredients:

  • 2 Oz Dandelion flowers

  • 1 ½C Sugar

  • Juice of ½ Lemon

  • ¼ - ½ tsp French Four Spice or Garam Masala

Instructions:

  1. Wash dandelions to remove dirt/debris.

  2. Pick dandelion petals off stems making sure to remove any green leaves.

  3. Put petals in a large pot & cover completely with water. Turn heat to low and leave uncovered for 5 hours.

  4. Remove pot from heat, cover and let steep for 24 hours.

  5. Drain through a sieve or strainer into a saucepan.

  6. Stir in sugar, lemon juice and spices. Bring to a boil.

  7. Simmer uncovered until a syrup forms. It will still be on the runny/thin side.

  8. Remove from heat and let cool.

  9. Pour into a jar or bottle and store in the fridge.

Uses:

  • Pour over pancakes/waffles

  • Add to your coffee

  • Use in cocktails
